Refund Policy

If HeyCaption isn't right for you, you can get your money back. Request a full refund within 7 days of your purchase date, for any reason. You don't have to tell us why, though we always appreciate feedback.

This applies to both the Pro (yearly) license and the Lifetime license. You can also caption your first 3 videos free before buying anything, so you can check the accuracy on your own footage first.

• Email support@heycaption.com with the subject “Refund request”.
• Include the email address you bought with and your order ID. You'll find the order ID in your receipt email.

Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record, so Dodo Payments issues the refund to your original payment method. We aim to approve requests within 2 business days. Once approved, the money usually shows up within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank or card provider.

When a purchase is refunded, its license key is deactivated and HeyCaption goes back to the free trial on the Macs it was activated on. Captions and videos you already exported are yours to keep.

Refunds after 7 days generally aren't available, except where the law requires them. We always refund duplicate purchases. And if something is seriously wrong, for example HeyCaption won't run on a supported Mac and we can't fix it, contact us and we'll work it out.

Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. We can usually sort it out faster. Licenses tied to a chargeback are deactivated.
