Install on your Mac
Download HeyCaption, open the DMG and drag HeyCaption into your Applications folder. Requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later on Apple Silicon.

Download your language model
On first launch, HeyCaption downloads the speech model for your language. It's a one-time download that stays on your Mac. After this, captioning works fully offline.

Drop in your first video
Drag any MOV or MP4 into the window. HeyCaption transcribes and times every word on-device, and nothing is uploaded. Fix any word by clicking it in the transcript.
